Future Organization Committee

The purpose of this committee is to recommend and develop a permanent private/public transportation organization, such as a Transportation Management Association (TMA), a new Rural Transportation Planning Organization (RPO) or a public transportation authority.  This organization would replace the Outer Banks Transportation Task Force (OBTTF) and provide ongoing future coordination of transportation activities on the Outer Banks.  The organization would be staffed and would need a Board of Directors – perhaps drawn from the current OBTTF membership or their successors.  Alternatively, the ongoing work of the OBTTF could be undertaken by an existing organization, which would need to have a compatible mission.
